When Kathy and Alistair Cameron moved into their brand new Stephen home, Kathy felt she wasn't just downsizing, but moving back to familiar territory, having lived in the area as a child.
After living in a four bedroom villa in Stephen's Balgarvie development in Scone for eight years, Kathy and her husband decided to downsize after their youngest son moved out.
The 'Oakbank' development at Guildtown came at the perfect time and they quickly fell in love with the showhome, a four bedroom 'Glen Arklet' bungalow, one of 24 homes.
The couple moved into their bungalow in August 2019 and, as well as the guest room, have turned the other remaining bedrooms into a study and hobby room.
Kathy said, "We absolutely loved the house as soon as we saw it. Having lived in Stephen’s Balgarvie development for eight happy years, we had no hesitation that we were buying a quality home from the finish and attention to detail right through to the tasteful décor and interiors. When we moved into the Scone showhome, we bought most of the contents but didn't need to this time around, so it was just a case of buying a few select pieces, however tempting everything was!
"We really like the way the bungalow flows and, even though we have downsized, it feels bigger as we are using all of the house and everything's on one level. We are also enjoying the change from a formal dining room setting to the dining kitchen. We have already entertained friends and family and like the fact you can serve and chat all together. It's just beautiful - this is definitely our forever home!"
Just five miles north of Perth, the location also suits the Camerons to a tee – "Having spent a few years here growing up, the area really appealed. There are lots of beautiful walks, gorgeous views, a great village pub and primary school. Of course, as avid golfers, we're also in a prime spot for the courses at Blairgowrie and visiting family in Scone and Perth."
