We recently spoke to Chantelle Micheli, who moved into Chapelton with her husband and children earlier this year.
"Having moved here from North America for my husband's work, we were a little nervous about committing to a property and, at first, didn't know if we were going to rent or buy. We were really just dipping our toe in the market.
After doing some research online prior to our arrival in Scotland, the first house we viewed was the 'Melfort' showhome at Chapelton, as well as the 'Dunvegan' which seemed the ideal three bedroom family home for my husband and I, and our two boys. We thought that we couldn't possibly buy the first house we saw and decided to get more informed. We went to look at a few rentals and some other new build properties in and around Aberdeen. Relative to what we saw with the Stephen homes, we felt that those floor plans weren't as spacious and open.
Having come from North America, we're used to open space and open plan living. We also loved the natural light, large windows and the comfortable, inviting feel of the Stephen home. We were also so impressed by the location. None of the others 'spoke' to us in the way that the 'Dunvegan' did so we went back to see Karen, the lovely sales advisor, and put our deposit down.
We were amazed how smooth a process it was. Having come from overseas, we thought it might be quite a complicated process but it really wasn't and Karen welcomed all of the questions we had. We also loved the fact that Stephen have their own Customer Care Manager, Linda. She was so thorough and friendly and went that extra mile to ensure that we were happy with our new home.
We've now been here since April 2019 and absolutely love the house and Chapleton as a whole. As well as being the ideal location for my husband's work, the setting is just lovely for growing families – it has the best of both worlds as we're close to the sea, which you can see from some bedrooms upstairs, but also nestled amongst some of the most beautiful countryside in Scotland with fields of sheep just a short walk away. It's also so convenient for family life, close to both Aberdeen and Stonehaven. We really did fall in love with it, the house is gorgeous and cosy and has a really good vibe about it. We feel that it 'flows' really nicely. As one of the first here, it’s also really exciting watching the community take shape and welcoming new neighbours into the development. It's so friendly and such a safe place to bring up our 3 and 5 year old boys, the perfect community."
Situated between Stonehaven and Aberdeen, we can offer a range of properties at Chapelton, from award-winning two and three bedroom courtyard cottages right up to a six bedroom luxury villa, so something for everyone, with many available for early entry.
Why not take a drive out to see the 'Ardwall' cottage viewhome or the four bedroom 'Melfort' showhome? We would be delighted to see you between Thursday and Sunday, 12 noon to 4.30pm.
