Perth-based housebuilders Stephen have provided a boost to Scone Thistle 2001 Football Club.
Part of the Scone Thistle Community Club, which sees over 200 adults and children play football every week, the 2001s have been running for the past seven seasons. Unfortunately, like other teams within the Scone Thistle community, they have had to move away from the village to play their games and train, due to the lack of facilities in Scone itself.
To lend a helping hand, Stephen decided to help support the under 16 players by sponsoring their new home kit.
Tom Buchanan, Marketing Manager explained, “As a local, family firm which has played a prominent role in the Scone community for many years, we have a strong allegiance to Scone and to the many families who live in the village. We are therefore delighted to be helping the local under 16s football club with the challenges they face, and to help them not only survive but thrive in the months and years ahead.”
Stephen Taylor, club Manager said, “Hopefully, at some point, Scone Thistle and the broader Scone and Bridgend communities will benefit from the facilities available in other communities but, until then, and with the help and kind sponsorship given to us by companies like Stephen, we will continue to endeavour to make the ‘Scone Thistle experience’ as enjoyable and positive for all involved!”
